Man Remanded In Prison For Killing His Wife's lover

An Ilorin Magistrate Court on Friday ordered that a 30-year-old farmer, Waheed Suleiman, be remanded in prison custody for allegedly killing his wife’s lover, Ismaila Hassan.

Waheed was reported to have earlier caught the deceased in the act; making love to his wife right on their matrimonial bed.
The Prosecutor, Cpl. Salahu­deen Ahmed told the court that the accused person (Waheed) conspired with two others now at large and macheted the deceased with cutlasses on the head.
He added that the accused and his accomplices later tied the deceased with his Bajaj motorcy­cle and throw him and the bike inside Asa River on Oct. 20
The prosecutor added that the perpetrated the heinous act as a pay back because he caught the deceased having sexual intercourse with his wife, Musili sometimes in April this year.
According to him, both the deceased and Musili after being caught ran away from Suta Village in Asa Local Government area of Kwara where they both reside because Waheed threat­ened to kill both of them.
The Prosecutor said the elders of the village later begged him to forgive the duo to come back to the village, a request that he obleiged.
He further told the court that the accused person was ar­raigned in court on a one count-charge of culpable homicide Contrary to section 221 of the Penal Code Law.
He objected to the bail of the accused and urged the court to remand him in prison pending the completion of police investi­gations.
Magistrate Funke Olokoyo while giving a ruling, ordered the remand of the accused in Okeku­ra Prison Federal Prisons, Ilorin and adjourned the case to Dec. 12 for further mention.
