UCF hires Oregon OC Scott Frost to replace George O'Leary

UCF will name Oregan offensive coordinator Scott Frost its next head coach. CBS Sports' Ryan Bass first reported the news
early Tuesday before it was confirmed by the school.

"UCF is an excellent opportunity for me because our student-athletes can succeed immediately, both competitively and academically," Frost said Tuesday in a statement released by the school.  "We’ve had great recent success -- I vividly remember watching the Fiesta Bowl victory. With our student-athletes, football staff, facilities, fans and supporters, I know we will bring exciting and winning football back to Orlando."
What UCF is getting in Frost is a proven offensive mind as a player and a coach. He compiled a 24-2 record as a national title winning quarterback at Nebraska and has been calling the shots during record-breaking offensive seasons at Oregon.
Frost has received attention as a potential head coach since he began calling plays for the Ducks in 2013. Syracuse was mentioned a school reportedly in frost  scott shaffer before the Knights lured him to Orlando.
Frost's hire matches many of the recent additions in the American Athletic Conference. The league has welcomed a handful of the top offensive assistants in college football recently (Tom Herman, Phillip Montgomery, Chad Morris and Justin Fuente before his recent exit), so for UCF the hire falls in line with the expectation that the Knights will need to put some points on the board to get back in AAC title contention.
